Does any one else have their nails go bluey grey at the bottom and sort of orangey towards the top? Mine do this several times a day, sometimes because I am breathless, sometimes cold and sometimes for no apparent reason

Random Nail Discolouration
I would talk to your doctor about this reglois, could be a sign of low blood oxygen levels. Ask your doctor to check and if necessary refer you to hospital checks of the arterial blood gas levels. At these times make a note how often occurring, what you were doing and check if your lips have a slight bluish tinge too.
I don't personally experience this.
Thank you. I do have another appointment with the pulmonary specialist mid February, plus another CT scan just before, not worth going to the doctor as I have 4 progressive lung problems at once and every one panics at the slightest thing, was just interested to know if any one else has this weird colouring, happens mainly on the left hand and starts with my thumb, not worried about it
Have you had your heart checked lately, it might be worth getting a mot just incase
Thanks, yes, am closely monitored in case of pulmonary hypertension
I started this discolouration in one fingernail after LVRS and a pleural effusion 18 months ago. I read up about it, and the orange effect and thickening of the nail is something that happens after lung surgery. It’s only just growing out after all this time. I don’t know why it’s only one nail!
Mine blue/grey and orange comes and goes at least three times a day, starts on thumb and travels across to all the others, never stays and last night I had lovely pink nails, atm they are pinky white. actually quite fascinating to watch lol.
