Coughing
Hi dairy food is well known for making mucus thicker and harder to cough up so I would cut down on this. Also drink more water as this will thin it down. x
Check with your doctor or respiratory team.
The general rule is:
- drink plenty of water always - everyday.
- Ask the doc to prescribe carbocisteine if you don't already have a prescription.
- Ask for a referral to the respiratory physio for advice and instruction on the Active Cycle of Breathing, posture and huffing technique if you haven't already had this instruction.
- Ask the doc about an acapella or Flutter (which one will depend if you have emphysema or not. On my last assessment it was mentioned the acapella is better for people with emphysema.
Any other devices that you are considering buying check first with your respiratory doc to be sure its a good option for you.
As hyper at suggests, drinking more water helps to moisten phlegm/mucus.
Could you try eliminating either the chocolate or cheese. Both these foods can cause some people severe migraine so it stands to reason that they both have the ability to affect us in different ways. Me? Both just make me fat 😳
As already answered by others plus :-
Drink pineapple juice
Only have decaffeinated tea/coffee
Hope we've all helped a little x
