Oh Steven I can soo relate to the collection theory. I now have bits of me being attended to in 10 departments at my local hospital. I took discretionary severance aged 57 and then crumbled! Nowadays my outings are by ambulance, I'm aggrieved they don't do frequent flyer miles.
On a positive note I'm getting healthier x
Yes I reckon. I was fine till I got COPD then I seem to get one thing after another, a chronic health condition seems to affect other things going on in the body. I do think the meds taken for one problem can create other problems as well. my experience any way.
Best possible is that we try and remain stable and have conditions well managed so there isn't any more additional probs. (fingers crossed)
Wishing all no more add ons with meds and health.
I'm sure your right. You can think well I've adapted to meds and inhalers then out of the blue something else grabs yer. I am so scared about my consultants appt. Tomorrow but I guess I'll just face the music. Take care Stephen. Jane
Yes, so it would seem of late. The copd has been joined by a very painful back and chronic constipation!
All very jolly!
That certainly is the case and when you add to that the age related conditions, bits wearing out, I sometimes think I'll just go and lie on the compost heap!
I seem to collect rare diseases. Would much rather not!
Yes, I do think sometimes you can. Medications, to help one thing, can sometimes cause many other things. And, immune systems, just us being humans!!
Take good care,
Stay well,
Meg
Yes but most are a side effect of steroids.
And I guess if one bit of us, like the lungs, isn’t working so well, other bits have to work overtime or perhaps in a way they wouldn’t otherwise, and this causes problems and complications there too. Then the side effects of medications that feel like ailments in their own right. 🤢
Stephens, l was diagnosed officially with COPD, each time doctors tell me to do pulmonary rehabilitation, they find a reason to put it off: hiatus hernia, general anxiety disorder, left ventricular something in my heart, my eyes are constantly blurred, l can't get them to calm down, I am ALWAYS tired, any little thing l do (even going to the toilet), almost absolutely buggers me! I am now getting everything l need, which scares me as l think the health system is just keeping me happy.
Hi Stephend, how glib I was.
Little did I know a new department would soon become mine.
I spent Friday at AED stroke referral: basic obs, blood, neuro obs, chest xray, carotid ultrasound, brain scan! Consultation with specialist nurse then Dr.
ALL CLEAR thankfully.
I was out from 11am to 7.30 pm. I had a small bottle of water with me; given an egg sandwich at 4pm and drink of water 6.30pm. Not my best experience in NHS. I'm not able to mobilise independently so couldn't do much about it.
Just so glad that my messing up my word selections has no physical cause. I'll be happy calling a hat a shoe if the fancy takes me.
Scouse x
