Well I did go and was beginning to find a real benefit then blow me I come down with a dreadful cold, it seems that I had nasty sinus infection and it's taken 3 weeks before I felt well!! The team at PR, who were fab, suggested that I do not return as I had missed too many sessions and that they would call me back on the next one! I did ask how many times one could attend PR and apparently only once! I keep reading about people who have done the course 4/5 times, I think this is in the US however.

Pulmonary rehab
My husband's done it twice but 3 years apart and he's going on another one when he's feeling better. He's not fit enough at the moment and got addititional heart problems. We are in the UK. I rang the community Respiratory Team for the second one and as he was known to them from the first time he got a place.
Keep trying as you will gain a lot from attending.
Take care

It is a great facility, it’s free and if you can do it then go for it.
Unfortunately I have tried twice but fallen by the wayside. The talks and advice given are very interesting but the exercises are just too much for me.
Some are easier than others but I just don’t have enough puff and no matter how hard I try I fail miserably.
Yes, I know all about
Go at your own pace
Take it gradually.
Small steps etc. etc.
But when you have the double whammy of clinical depression I have to admit I cannot hack it and allow someone else to take my place.
I tried!
Hi Hun, I'm the one you refer to, though I'm not in USA, I have had PR 5 times and all because I am waiting Double Lung Transplant (Over 2 Years on List). When my Symptons start to Deteriorate my Consultant refers me, then I go for my 6 week Course, I do enjoy it so much and finish being a lot stronger. My Last course finished first week of June this year as I was going to have Valve Procedure on the 7th June. The Respiritory Nurses are Fantastic, of Course they offered me a Job there. Ha Ha. My Valves worked so well, I still have to have Oxygen for 16 hours a day. I will probably be referred again once I see my Consultant in November to maintain my Lung Dependancy. FEV1 is 32% so not too bad. I also do Exercise Classes and the Gym, Staying Positive is a must with our Lung Conditions. Monday I go for my Lung Tests and Blood Gases. Carry on woth PR when your feeling better, Just wish Everyone was offered this wonderful Exercise & Educational Course. Love n Hugs Hun. xxxx
No Ive done it twice here in the UK and a few sessions after double pneumonia so that the physios could observe me and see I was fit enough to return to the weekly maintenance sessions they run after you've completed the PR course. It's brilliant in my area but provision varies all around the country which is so unfair.
