Well it's national organ donation week and I have had the opportunity to be a recipient of a single lung transplant in November 2016. I'm doing great!! And all because a very kind family agreed for their loved one to donate their organs. I'm eternally grateful for the second chance at life with my daughter. I urge everyone who isn't on the register to sign up and speak to their families about signing up too!! There are currently over 6,000 people on the transplant waiting list and 400 are dying every year because families either don't agree wit organ donation or the deceased got too poorly to talk to their relatives about their wishes. Please please sign up.

National organ donation week
I’ve been on the register for over 30 years and my family know about it. It’s an amazing thing to do and I’m glad you’re doing well. Xxxx
Thankyou so much your amazing gift will certainly save a lot of people's lives!
Thank you for that Hidden . I am waiting for a lung transplant now. I am so glad you are doing well. That certainly gives me hope. xx 🌿
You will get your transplant! I waited 7 months for my perfect match, the. Doctors gave me two weeks to live without one before I got "the call". But it wasn't with it a lot of prayer and god came thru for me and he will do the same for you. Keep me updated x
Thank you very much. xx 🌸😊
Ejbid we never met but almost time to celebrate your 2nd lung birthday and i hope you have zillions more to come and also time to give thanks to the wonderful and generous donor and their family that made this all happen.keep well and keep spreading the message.
best wishes Ski's and Scruffy x
Ejbid, thank you for your post. Two things however, that I learned the hard way 1) if the donor is not in hospital when death occurs, their organs are, with very few exceptions (corneas for example) rendered unusable for transplant. 2) if like me, you have taken high levels of steroids for several years.
Wish it were different.
So glad you are doing so well 💫

Good reminder. I've been on the donor list for years too: though I'm not certain they'd want any of my spare parts now, I'm happy for any of them to be used after I've gone.
Thanks for the reminder. I had a bit of a melt down a month ago. Following a myriad of tests it seems that with the exception of my lungs all my other bits are pretty well up to scratch. I have the donor card but more importantly I have told my nearest and dearest about my wishes, and it doesn't hurt to put out a reminder from time to time
Thank you everyone for your continued support!!
