sorry but im ranting

this year after 10 long years looking after my uncle [ my mums brother] he died on Christmas morning 2 days after his 70th birthday , all through the years it was said that he had asbestos his doctors and the specialist confirming it , his care providers and social services also had the doctors reports . he spent 35 years as a electioneer striping out cables out of factories and homes breathing in the asbestos , me and my sister watched out for his care and the effect it had on my mum as he lived with her but she wouldn't put him in care home, the last 3 mouths was the worst for my mum and i cant tell you how all involved was gentle and caring till the end he spent his last days with his sister , he had to have a coroners report for cause of death but i was shocked when it said that it was not asbestos but something else and asbestos was contributor to his death but not the main factor even though he worked with the stuff most of his life , cant help feeling if we had money and the brains and wasn't working class this would of been easier to fight for my uncle for his life that was cut short , me and my sister have copd and other conditions , we have both been poorly this year but we continue to support my mum has its left her more frail , we are all just concentrating on getting well and looking toward the future . bless you all x

Morning vixs19, how sad to watch your dear uncle suffer like that, dreadful for all the family.

I dare say asbestos was a contributor to his death but people often die of something else. Can you recall what it was?

I expect the medical people did their best and you need to focus on being well and taking care of yourself and mum along with your sister.

Hi vixs I have plural plax asbestos on outside of lung not inside but so far I'm managing I also have bronchiectasis and copd but never smoked but as someone said earlier sometimes it can be unrealated illness that get us in the end..sorry to hear about your father. Ger
