Some positive news.

Recent test results say my pulmonary hypertension is nearly nonexistent now. I have never been able to use the elliptical at Pulmonary Rehab now I’m doing 30 minutes 1 to 2 times a week on it! I still have congestive heart failure and bronchiolitis obliterans that will follow me till my dying day but honestly I feel better than I ever have since I got sick. I am so grateful!

Ergendl it takes determination. Follow doctor‘s orders concerning diet and exercise at least three days a week. I focus on three days a week some days I can only do five minutes some days I can do 50 minutes. Just do what you can and never give up. That’s the real key never give up!

Hi happyjo. I’ve been in Pulmonary Rehab for years. I go three days a week and I keep pushing myself I’m pushing myself harder than ever now. I take a lot of Lasix and other water pills for the pulmonary hypertension but nothing else. I also follow a low salt diet and restrict fluids. The past year I have worked out harder than I ever Have been able to. I credit most of it to the exercise and the coach that was pushing me. It took years but now I’m doing so much better. Exercise and eating right that is extremely important. I started out only being able to do 10 minutes of exercise now years later I’m doing is 50 or 60 minutes three days a week. So I would tell everyone out there exercise and eat right and just never give up!

Happyjo sounds like your a fighter too. I can’t walk long distance outside but I do well in a gym setting. Ask your dr if you could do pulmonary rehab. I wouldn’t where I am today without that commitment. Never exercise alone, too dangerous. Sorry for your fall. How scary! Keep pressing on.

Bobbi6 that is such an inspirational post. Terrific work from you and it couldn't have been easy some days.

Excellent example how exercise and diet play such a huge part in our illnesses.

Congratulations.

SquirrelsHolt you are right some days I just didn’t want to get out of bed. Some days I didn’t want to quit exercising it felt so good. There have been many ups and many downs but I make each day a new day to start fresh. I never give up that’s the key. You have to believe in yourself and start fresh every day like it’s your first day and just do your best. Diet has played a very big part in my life and so has exercise. I am overweight and need both The diet and exercise. I don’t give up just because I’m not certain size on the scale. I don’t give up because I believe in myself and I want to live.

Well done! Your determination has paid off and you will reap the benefits; even if they are limited. Just being able to do things you couldn’t do before is a great feeling, keep up the progress but don’t over do it.
