Spirometry

So repeating my spirometry today after having a poor reading 6 weeks ago. Had a spirometry about 3 years ago and was normal and the one I had six weeks ago showed moderate obstruction. I'm 38 and a non smoker and get a bit breathless sometimes which I think is anxiety of the time. I don't cough or have mucous. Totally freaking out that one test can say you have copd. So back today to try it again as the day I did it I was still recovering from a chest cold. Wish me luck

Spirometry as limitations. Results can alter for many reasons. The fact that you were given one following a chest infection is reason alone for a poor result. Hopefully now that you have recovered your result will be far better.

Hi. All went well and normal spirometry. Was so happy the nurse said it must have been a bad day. Don't think it even indicates asthma although I do still get breathless sometimes it when I'm up and about or sleeping just in periods of inactivity so think it must be anxiety. Thanks. Normal spiro normal x-ray x
