AMBOT and AAA

Having recently attended a respiratory medicine clinic for detailed pulmonary function tests; followed up immediately by attending a diagnostic meeting with a consulting physician, it was proposed that I undertake an ambulatory oxygen test. My question is: Could the stress of the testing have any effect on my AAA? (Latest measurement 4.8)

Hi

A Ambulitory oxygen assessment is usually a six minute walk test. Although is much likely to be shorter depending on your oxygen desaturation.

First with no oxygen, if your desaturation is less than 88%, they will look to add oxygen to maintain a oxygen desaturation between 90/92%.

The test itself is not stressful, but if like me you find any change to be stressful then speak to the respitory nurse first. So that you are allowed time to calm yourself.

I had one annual assessment cancelled because I could not control my breathing, so stress can effect the results.
