Blood in sputim for about 2 months not every day

Hi been back and forward to doctors for the past 2 months or more also I have problem with scabs in nose rich do produce some blood on a tissue when inserted or when I blow my nose any advise would be grateful thanks

ian advice would be to not publish sputum pictures,we are neither doctors or lab technicians an explanation would be more than sufficient,probably nothing to worry about,especially as you say you have scabs in your nose,what does the gp say?small traces of blood in sputum are invariably harmless and can originate from broken minor blood vessels.best of luck.......Ski's and scruffs x

Thanks tbh the doctors weren’t very helpful at the start I really had to be persistent finally got a ct scan after 2 months going back and forward no results yet!

There are so many different reasons for blood in sputum that members on here can only guess at. That said, it may just be the result of damaged blood vessels caused by violent coughing. Only your doctors can give an accurate diagnosis.

Thanks mrsmummy that’s what was frustrating didn’t seem to be getting far after numerous visits to the doctors and don’t normally see the same GP was getting a lot of different opinions from each one

Hi Iain1962, I have for a few Years now Blown my nose and had nose bleeds or just spotting, most days. Told my Consultant long ago, said nothing to worry about, My cannula tends to dry the nasal passages, no scabs though. I'm not worried about it. Good Luck with your results. xxx

Hi, I have the same problem but blood in mucus every day. Mine is likely to be due to blood thinners, are you on anything like this or do you take a lot of asprin?

Hi Kieth I take a nasal steroid mometazone furoate but did have a slightly crusty nasal cavity prior to being prescribed it!
