Hi, bit of a strange one but I use oxygen for moving around house and find that I get a runny nose when trying to do various household tasks or get dressed or bathed , does anyone else have this problem ? X

Yes Amanda, all the time especially if the exercise or work is intensive,if i ramp up the lpm the snivelling increases pro rata so maybe it's just something we have to put up with and i am sure it is something to do with temperature and flow rate differences as compared to breathing in normal air from the atmosphere but i didn't do science at school so it's not my strong point. x

Snotty Ski's and a disgusted cat :)

I find my nose runs if I do a lot of chewing eg meat.

It’s a nuisance,

Being dentally challenged and still having some swallowing problems but far less severe i don't have to worry to much in that respect. :) i am now convinced that the O2 just drys out our nasal passages and the body overcompensates to moisten them again?

It is not just an oxygen thing, I get it too the shorter of breath the worse it gets, more so when it is coming up time for my Fostair. I have to stop what I am doing for a while then continue. Everything takes longer to do now because of it.

I think that harder breathing is ejecting mucus strait up my throat, past my tonsils and up into the nasal passage, well that is my theory anyway.

Hi Amanda, I suffer from this as wel,l but I have noticed that it is worse when I look or bend down, when I do weeding in the garden or putting my shoes on. I have mentioned this several times to my respiratory nurse who seems to think I should put up with it, but I am not convinced, there should be a nasal spray that could stop it of at least reduce it, as it does become quite tiresome all the time. So she has changed my spray from Nasofan (which was doing no good ) to Dymista. I have yet to pick it up and will let you know how i get on.

Hi Poppy , yes worse when I’m bending down too .. hence the nappy changing not going too well 😂. I guess it’s just another symptom we have to put up with , next time I change grand daughters nappy I will stuff tissue up my nose .. might help with the pongy ones too .. multitasking at its best 😂😂, thank you for your reply , these site is a good send to us all !! X

Oh YES at the moment it is driving me crazy and using so many tissues. I hadn't' connected it to the oxygen though. I have found drinking more water helps a little or is that my imagination? If you find a solution please shout out. 😅
