Hi everyone,
Here's a quick message from our policy officer in Wales.
Will you help us clean up the air we all breathe?
We want Welsh Government to take action to protect children from the effects of air pollution whilst at school.
A freedom of information request by the British Lung Foundation to Welsh councils in 2017 found that only 68 per cent of respondents (15 out of 22) were not monitoring air pollution within 10 metres of any of their schools.
Children are among those most vulnerable to the impact of air pollution because their lungs are still growing. Polluted air can stunt the growth of their lungs and increase the likelihood of asthma and other health problems later on in life.
Monitoring the quality of the air children breathe at school means that local councils will have the information they need, and the requirement, to take action to clean up the quality of the air.

Thank you for your time.
