Hi Everyone

We are very excited to announce that here at Asthma + Lung UK we are putting together an application to become Morrison’s next Charity of the Year Partner. If we are successful, the charity will receive around £10 million worth of funding over the next three years, which will be transformational in changing the lives of the millions people across the country with a lung condition.

The application process is very competitive, and to make us stand out against the crowd we need your help to show Morrisons HQ and local stores how important Asthma + Lung UK is to their colleagues and customers.

We need people who either work at Morrisons, or who know someone who does and who would be willing to help, to help us with our application. If either of these apply to you, you could help us by sharing your story and why you think Asthma + Lung UK should be Morrisons’ next charity partner with our corporate partnerships team, who will feature your story in our application.

If you can help us, please reach out to Jane Dibble, our New Business Manager, at jdibble@asthmaandlung.org.uk Jane will be able to help you write your piece and give you the best chance of getting Morrisons to consider Asthma + Lung UK 😊

Thank you so much for helping us to win our next partnership!

The Corporate Partnerships Team.

Morrisons are reliable 99,9% of the time but do stupid things like, cancelling our order once when they said they could not get paid their few pounds for the delivery pass - I rang customer service to say my bank says they never asked for it, was they grumpy. I near went to Tesco or Asda but they rand saying our order was out the day after. Deliveries good, the attitude of CS has a lot to be desired, Grr xxx

I have shopped at my local Morrisons for more than 20 years and it has always been very good. The staff are always polite and very helpful and their prices are very competitive.

i dont know anyone working at Morrisons, but a couple of points which may be useful, When covid started Morrisons were a life saver for me. They were the only home delivery service available and having been scared stiff by the government warnings , i was eternally grateful to Morrisons for their home deliveries so that i didnt have to go out to supermarkets to shop being a chronic asthmatic.

I always find their fruit and veg selection very good - importance of diet etc for all of us with lung conditions. Good luck - its a great project

Same here. They were brilliant during covid. Once out of first lockdown I swapped to free click and collect and have stayed with that ever since. I’ve got really friendly with the woman who brings my shopping to my car. Carol - Does that count as knowing someone who works at Morrisons? Good luck with the application! That would be a massive help.

So being a severe COPD patient for the past 25 years and an experienced Public Relations Executive may I suggest this as part of the pitch to Morrisons:

Food builds the body and Morrisons is a major player in the retailing of food. But did you know that some foods are better than others for lung health? So Morrisons has a vested interest in promoting these foods and connecting sufferers who shop in the story with the help they need.

So take a look at this; just one of many lists that could aid your marketing and merchandising teams in taking advantage of the benefits to be had from supporting Asthma + Lung - the best support from victims of this major killer of British people.

What a pity our help wasn’t asked for before they made the disastrous decision to ditch the British Lung Foundation title with it’s famous red balloon symbol.

I really miss BLF …a shock when it changed .

Built up a relationship via newsletters , Breathe Easy groups , leaflets and fund raising .
