Have had my pulmonary rehab assessment and after a long chat about my health was told. "Your results are too good to be copd, in my opinion you have exercise induced asthma. As you have palpitations you be gp should check out the heart as that may cause you to be short of breath." So now back to the gp. I do have a slight heart murmer but it hasn't been checked since 2005 . Feeling even more confused.

Wrong diagnosis?
A respiratory nurse can't really diagnose you. Perhaps ask your GP to refer you to a respiratory consultant for checks?
Thank you I will update you. X
I was given my diagnoses by my Respritary nurse, although this was after my spirometery test and mri scan. So does this mean I should chase my results with my g.p? X
I think it's best to listen to your doctors advice and if your in anyway unsure then ask for a referral to speak with a specialist and then ask for further tests to put your mind at rest. 🙂
At my last annual checkup the nurse told me I didn't have COPD after I did the spirometry. She was training a healthcare assistant at the time and told her that spirometry is the only sure way to diagnose COPD. I refused to let her take me off the register, arguing that I had been diagnosed following a scan. Two other nurses at the practice have since looked at the results and can't understand why she thought I didn't have COPD. Very worrying that she was training a healthcare assistant 😒
