Can anyone recommend a good online prescription service as I have been having problems with my local lloyds pharmacy its the only chemist in my town. My repeat prescriptions are never ready for collection and can take on average between 7 and 10 days and there are times when the pharmacy staff do a check on their system to see where prescriptions is, I have sat waiting for over 30 mins then to be told the reason prescription is not ready as they haven't got items in stock and have to go back the following day.

The NHS run a prescription by post scheme which I have seen advertised on TV. I don't know any more than that, but I expect there is information online. I hope you find something.
Hi Sisterbird, are you sure Lloyd’s is the only pharmacy in town?
You’ll find these days, some big supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s or Tescos will have pharmacy sections. And Boots? They are not just a health and beauty place, perfumes etc - they have a pharmacy too.
Anyway, the pharmacy by post thing Carnival567 mentioned, can be found here pharmacy2u.co.uk/prescripti...
Good luck.
Hi
One to try.
I can’t use electronic prescription service because I have Oramorph, a controlled drug.
Any service is only as good as the system used, which is the same as the one used by your current pharmacist.
I would speak to your GP practice first, and try and resolve any issues.
I had similar problems, and decided to collect my prescription from GP, and use any pharmacy I choose.
Off topic, but isn't Oramorph amazing Stone? Ive only just discovered it since being hospitalised for 12 days with pneumonia and respiratory failure. Why did no-one think of giving it to me before? It works when nothing else will. I can use it 4x a day but in fact only need it about twice a week. I didn't know it's a controlled substance but I guess that makes sense.
That is really shocking sisterbird. Im sorry you've been having such trouble, hopefully the suggestions above will help. Going online seems like a fiddle to me, think I would go to one of the supermarket pharmacies. Anyway good luck
I used pharmacy 2u but you have to remember to order your prescription at least a week in advance as it takes that long for them to get it from your surgery, fill it, check it, post it then it takes a couple of days to arrive. Lloyds chemist do the same sort of service. Keep smiling
