Hi all new to this had copd since 2015 was hospitalised then 3 years fine then since Jan this year had 3 flare ups so fed up got bad pains under my ribs like something stuck doc says with coughing but haven't been coughing any body else had this

Hi, yes I have only under my right rib, it started the end of February my doctor sent me for a scan I go for the results tomorrow. Perhaps you need to visit your doctor again

Hi and welcome, yes I have had that it turned out in my case to be an infection,but it may well not be the same for you. Go back to your GP and tell him you still have it. Let us know how you get on.xx😊 Bernadette

Yeah thanks been on serious n biopics three weeks solid now maybe the infection just doesn't want to go away or need stronger Medes thank u back at docs Tuesday so let u know

Thank u they also think now I might me diabetic n my thyroid so gone to pot been on melds for thyroid for years so I'm wondering if this is setting off all the flare ups sorry about spelling

Yes i get the pain in the right rib it feels like it wants to get out when the pain stops it leaves a bruise for a few days doctor said it could be trapped wind i think not

Im a newbie too! I get pains under my ribs but wasnt sure why-i had an edoscope and it was discovered that i have a hiatus hernia and reflux prob due to a valve being weak. I have yablets for it-it settled down but sometimes it flares up again.

I think it might be worth looking at your diet and seeing a GP but it was a locum that spotted it.

I also have a gall stone so he said it was a process of elimination!

Hi I dont know if its the same type of pain but i have had a dull aching pain sounds much the same as yours. It's as though its behind my ribs on right side. Doctor reckons it could be gall stones but nothing showing up on scan. I have had this a few years now. Quiet often when it gets really bad it seems to penetrate to my upper back on left side . Ive had it checked out on numerous occasions over a period of years. Iv,e got to the stage now where i just grin and bear it until it gets to the stage where I can,t stand it then go back to doctor who says the same thing again. I was reading up about intercostal muscles which are a small group of muscles situated between the ribs. I am going to mention it to my doctor next time I'm down. It will be interesting to see what your doctor says.

I get the same ,but on both sides more on the left ,it is under the breast ,difference is i don't cough ,i have had this quite a while ,i told my doctor but he said it's because where the spleen is taken out ,some how i don't buy it .
