Cough for 5 months

Hello gus . I have a chronic cough for 5 months that occur when im awake but when i feel so tired or about to sleep or already asleep it never bothers me.. Anyone experience this?

Yes, is your cough productive or non productive?

When i take antibiotics its productive. But when i don't its just a dry cough but mostly just a non productive cough what was your diagnosis?

Initially, I was diagnosed as having a reaction to Ramipril, a medication I took for blood pressure control. Do you take this medication?

I was prescribed the ramipril. Had to come off it as it made me feel very ill indeed .

I have had low blood pressure most of my life apart from when pregnant.

When I discovered Ramipril is for lowering blood pressure I was furious.

All that suffering for nearly a month. I don’t believe all doctors read the notes.

Some medications for treating HTN are also used to improve the workings of the heart. Perhaps that is why you were prescribed Ramipril an ACE inhibitor?

Nope medication for coughs only

Dry cough should always be investigated when it lasts as long as yours. It could be something as simple as sensitivity triggers to something more serious in your lungs. Asthma for example can present as a cough, not everyone wheezes. The only way you will find out is to go back to your doctor and request investigation.
