I'm new to the group. after getting pneumonia, found out I have C.O.P.. Been taking 60 mg prednesone for 9 days. will gradually get to 20 mg a day in the six month. I have never heard of this disease before. Don't really know what to expect as I go along. Some nights I don't sleep at all. Any and all feedback on this, do anyone have it. I'm 74 years old, and in good health except for getting pneumonia 2 years in a row.

Hi, mine is a similar Story. I got Chicken Pox in my 40s and because i am Asthmatic it turned to Chicken Pox pneumonia, and damaged my Lungs. Do you have the pneumonia jab where you live? It lasts around 10 years. I have it as have had pneumonia several times. It takes a long time to completely recover from. But, because you are otherwise fit and healthy, I'm sure Docs will find Meds that help. Do try to have good Sleep though, as it helps with recovery.if i can't sleep i listen to the sleep hypnosis, online. I find Jason Stephenson and Michael Seally easy to Listen too. They're both Australian and have soothing voices. Some of the American ones are a bit Whiney. I wish you well. ☺️☺️

It is Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia. It's a rare condition, and don't think they know what causes it. I've been on prednisone for 12 days now. The doctor is going from 60mg per day for a month then reduce 10mg per month. I'm trying to connect and find out all about it,

Hi Bexmad 60 mgm a day for a month is a high dose . There are many side effects. Don't want to scare you but if you can, be proactive and research prednisone. Perhaps get a second opinion. All the best.

I know there are so many side effects. Last month he put me on 40 mg for a month. Go back the April 20th and hope to be on 30 mg for a month. Prednisone doesn't make me feel very good. I am trusting my Pulmonary doctor, but I do not like to feel like this.
