Hi. I'm new on this site. My friend was diagnosed with IPF (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) about a year ago and we're pulling through it together. Is there anyone here with any advice, pointers?

Him Mykl_jr. Sorry I can't help you with this one, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly with your condition who'll be able to answer your question. All the best, M.

Hi, my husband was diagnosed with IPF in 2012. I hope your friend is under a specialist hospital, We go to Papworth who are wonderful. My husband is on Esbriet a drug that can only prescribed by specialist hospitals and the disease has to be at a certain stage before you can take it but, although it won’t cure it, the disease is contained. Keep up exercise, eat as healthy a diet as you can. If you are on Facebook there is a group called Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis and also Fighting IPF who are always posting new articles about the disease and it is a friendship group. Such a rare disease most people have never heard of it. I wish your friend all the best -stay positive that is the best frame of mind to be in to help fight it.

Thank you very much Floralart. This is very helpful. My friend is on Nintedanib and has been for about 3 months. He is apparently getting better. We hope for the best.
