Is there anything we can do?

Really concerned about Margaret (Time2drink). I suppose this has happened before on the forum when a popular member suddenly disappears and there's no way we can get any information. I wondered if she was in the hospice and didn't have access to the internet. Do we just have to wait until she is forgotten about yet all the time hoping to get a message from her. Can't help but think the worst. Lilian xxxxx

Lilian i can't think of any other means apart from asking people who have had similar contact.sorry i do hope she is ok as well, she had quite a run of hospital visits last year? xx

Other people who PM'd Margaret have not had any news for long time either, and, like myself are worried. She did have a bad year. Lilian xxxx

It is worrying isn’t it but I always say no news is good news. Occasionally people do just disappear, unfortunately, but I think most of us have left our access details with someone just in case. Makes sense. When she returns maybe you could ask Margaret to do that. I’m sure noone’s forgotten about her though. I often think of people I haven’t heard of in quite a while

You saying that Hanne62, I haven't given my access details to anyone, pleased you said that, it is something I must do. Lilian xxxx

Please, is there a specific way to leave access details or is it just a matter of making sure someone close to us knows how to leave a message for the forum?

in reply toJudith41

No specific way I don’t think, Judith. Just leave details with family or give a friend here a number or email to contact your family on if things go too quiet

Margaret may be poorly but I’m hopeful we will hear soon. It’s a worry when you don’t see any posts from a popular member but we can only wait and hope. Xxxxxx

I would think that Frank knows about HU and could get in touch somehow. I’m keeping an open mind for now. Take care Lilian. Xxxx

in reply toLilian226

I think you’re right sassy, Frank probably knows about her HU family & would get in touch

Yes I've also sent PM's and almost feel as though I'm being a bit intrusive if I enquire again. I just pray she will return asap.

I know what you mean Squirrel but I think I will keep messaging every couple of day and hope that she might reply to one. Lilian xxxxxx

Hello Lilian.

It is a terrible worry. My close friend who has end stage lung disease disappears and reappears after long intervals. Usually due to hospital admissions or just not feeling up to communicating. I wait with baited breath and always relieved when news does come through. I think all we can do is keep Margaret in our hearts, and let her know we are thinking of her and Frank. She knows she is missed and loved and we know Frank is looking after her, she's not alone.

Sending kind wishes to you.

Cas xx 🌹

Yes, you're right Cas. A while ago Margaret didn't message for about 2 weeks, If I remember rightly she'd been in hospital. I hope you are feeling better Cas, you seem to have had a couple of rough weeks. Love Lilian xxxxxx

Hello Lilian.

I am having a good spell at the moment. I am always grateful for them. Thank you for asking. xx 😀🍓🐞

Like everyone else, I am really worried now. As I have said in earlier messages we used to post at least once if not twice a week & if I messaged first she would almost always reply straightaway unless she was out. I can’t think it’s just an internet thing - it’s gone on too long for that now. Frank knows all about HU as I remember last year whenever she was in Hospital he would make sure she had the iPad to keep us all up to date. I really hope we hear something soon - Hanne’s idea of someone else having contact details is a really good one & would ensure we get to know if anything happens. I appreciate that everyone has a right to privacy & we, as members, don’t want to intrude but we can’t help worrying.

You’ve hit the nail on the head there, Helen. Some members keep their HU lives very private & wouldn’t want family members to know. I for one feel I can be open about my lung problems here, whereas I put on more of a front for my family. But I don’t think Margaret is like that. As you say, Frank knows all about us.

Hi Helen, hope you are well. We have been here before with Margaret haven't we? But never for so long. HU is a big part of Margaret's life, if she can't contact us I wish Frank would, but, of course, it is his decision. My husband wouldn't - he wouldn't know how to and I don't discuss it with him much anyway. HU is my private thing and that's how I like it. As Hanne62 says it's where we can open up about our concerns regarding our condition but wouldn't necessarily want to talk to our family about it. Let's hope Helen that Margaret will contact us soon. Lillian I was thinking about Margaret, T2D, today. So sad to still have heard nothing. Miss her terribly, she was such a kind hearted lady. I'm sure if others had any news etc they would post it for all to read?

Sorry to burden you with my thoughts but I was reading through items to do with our missing friend and that's where I read your concerns.

I also think about Margaret, Squirrel, she had such a bad time of it for the last year. You are right if Margaret had contacted anyone here they would have let everyone know. I think by now, we can only assume the worst. It is very sad. Lilian xxxxxx
