When I had breast cancer, I was always getting fungal infections. I didn't put it down to the cancer, but chemotherapy. It shuts your immune system down while you're on it, so you get every infection around, even fungal ones. Hoping your dad's treatment is successful.

Candida is a native fungus found normally in healthy people and is not a problem in itself.

When the glucose level of the blood is raised, and steroids can do this, the Candida gets out of balance and feeds on the excess glucose.

Many conditions and illness`s cause bodily function imbalance and thus prone to fungal infections and worse.
