Well I Wrote Or Is It Writen To The Information Commission Office.

Regarding information on How Many Alzheimer’s Dementia Suffers Have Been Diagnosed Treated For Asbestos Mesothelioma.

NHS Digital Have Refused My FOI Request saying information I requested can be found else where.

Yet NHS Digital advise point me to bespoke NHS Digital Search Engine where they ask me to commission bespoke search.

Now NHS Digital bespoke search is for health professionals and professional researchers neither of I am.

Given nature of my request and distinct lack of information and vulnerability of Alzheimer’s Dementia patients and obvious distinct lack of information when it comes to them suffering or being treated for asbestos related condition mesothelioma.

There should be information held as part of hospital NHS national safeguarding prescribing policy.

There are 600.000 Alzheimer’s Dementia suffers in the UK.

And not one as ever been exposed to asbestos or developed mesothelioma.

Well apart from my dad.

Clearly numbers don’t add up AND that’s why I think NHS Digital as the information but dose not want to disclose.

The lack of Asbestos Mesothelioma recognition when it comes to Alzheimer’s Dementia suffers one could say is causing them harm and is discriminatory.

I hope you can help me get to the bottom of where are all these Alzheimer’s Dementia asbestosis mesothelioma suffers as the numbers just don’t add up.

I doubt that the information is readily available and it would probably cost more than £600 to collate. Which would be a valid reason for refusing the request. And, as you are not a health professional, what would be the point of your request?

in reply to HuwieHex

Point would be I asked and cared enough too BUT clearly if there is no information there is even less resources let alone accountability.

Nice subject everyone to prescribing criteria BIT like pip do

You only read about those with a voice WHEN there subject to prescribing criteria changes.

But like those that find cancer drugs no longer funded or fit the criteria.

Guess that’s acceptable

I’m not sure I’ve understood why you need to know exactly how many people have or have had a diagnosis of both dementia and mesothelioma.

It reads as though you feel a person with both those ailments is being discriminated against - is that for treatment, or compensation?

in reply to beech

That would be both ... take BLF they say only middle classes suffer mesothelioma.

So I would say that’s untrue it’s just middle class have healthy life style SO when it comes to diseases THE less likely to have bucket list of conditions.

Did watch world in action documentary and they said it all about coroner’s mesothelioma and other conditions.

I don’t think anything as changed since

Hi Jeff,

Could you expand on what you mean about BLF saying only the 'middle class' suffering mesothelioma? I don't recall seeing this nor have I read it anywhere.

Thanks

Ben
