All the time it happens all the time to me. I always find the mistake after I've sent it! Fortunately everyone that knows me knows I usually dictate my sentences and they always come out sounding extremely weird. You think by now I would proofread myself but I don't. LOL oh well...

I am doing well thanks 😊 just had carpal tunnel surgery my surgeon did such a fine job! However was diagnosed with RA last week so won't be making anymore jewelry! 😣 (now that I have declared I'm fine)!! The reason I have not been on is due to having some posts removed as they were deemed not worthy for this forum! Frankly I just got tired of it and ended up privately posting. Thanks for thinking of me. 😉 nice to know! Hope all is well with you x

Hi everyone I get similar problems with most digital input gadgets, put it down to my arthritic fingers. But that does not explain changes when I haven't even touched the thing so agree with you they have a mind of there own and its not our input.

My best Holiday was new year in Levi (Finland) it was fun going out on the dog sled at minus 40C. I like the cold weather but really cold is best. Being Moscow through the winter was interesting and moving to Saudi Arabia in the summer was a bit of a shock getting off the plane at plus 40C.

I have no doubt plus 40 C was shock when you got off the phone. Are you living there full-time now? How have you adjusted to the heat?

I was expecting it but it still hits you when you exit the plane onto the Tarmac I left the UK in early 2009 to work in Qatar and there is just the same only more humid. In the 9 years I have been away I have spent 7 years in the middle east and 2 years in Moscow - went from plus 40 to minus 35 to plus 40 again - I guess you tend to adjust to the circumstances as you move. But some things were the same Pollution just different types

It is very amusing here during the winter (this time of year) the local will be wearing sweaters coats and Parkas because they are really cold. Today it is plus 20C and I have even seen ear muffs being used

That's priceless, we had a good chuckle over that. It's all what you get accustomed to for the most part. When we start getting days of plus 15 C at the end of winter or early spring there are people out in short sleeved shirts and and shorts.

I can well imagine it took some time adjusting from the Uk to Qatar to Miscow to Saudi Arabia now. Are you there permanently now?

I am here in Saudi for the foreseeable future, at least that is the plan. Of course, with the current push for getting the locals into work doing what the expats do, things may change quickly. The Sterling exchange rate is another issue and it may well become financially not worth staying here when the amount I bank in the UK becomes less than I could bank if I was back in the UK if you get my meaning. The middle east is not as lucrative a place as it was. The cost of living here has risen rapidly due to the low oil price and they are starting to include taxes where there were none. We shall see what happens

Maybe you can answer another question for me. Someone told me today that they don't have commercials on TV in the UK, is that true?

Also wondered what the price of gasoline is in Saudi Arabia as you often here it is just a few cents a gallon but don't know how true that is?

We have a number of channels where there are no commercials - The BBC for instance. But there are a lot of commercials on a lot of channels although for films and things like that we get to watch the whole thing without breaks on the satellite/cable channels

The price of gas in Saudi has risen a lot in the last year or so it used to be about 16cents a litre or 60 cents per gallon(US) last year now it is 42 cent per litre or $1.59 a US gal. Like I said cost are rising fast

Thanks very much for the information. I would be very happy if our gas was .42 a litre but I guess when they were .16 last year that is a pretty big increase for sure.

Oh my goodness that is darn cold! I get Shivers just thinking about it. And I'm sniffling because tomorrow I have to take the bus and it's going to be -5. But then again we have a lot more moisture in our air than you do. That makes me feel so much better to say that. LOL

It gives me shivers as well as I know I have to go out in it. There is no doubt the moisture does make a difference at any given temperature, I hope your outing was tolerable with the minus 5 temps, and you didn't have to wait too long for the bus.

Ch ch chilly! It was tolerable but would rather be laying by a pool in Mazatlan with a margarita in hand! My legs just cannot get warm as my circulation is the pits! Two throws on myself and yet after 2 hrs. Of resting I just cannot seem to warm up! Oh *snivel snivel* woe is me! 😣

I could sure go along with that but not sure I would ever want to come back. That's terrible when you can't get warm. When I had the flu last month I had an electric blanket and then a heavy quilt folded in half on top of it and couldn't get warm either but that is fairly unusual for me. I hope you don't experience that all the time, only after you have been out in the cold? Passing you an e-tissue for your snivels.

Sweet! Thanks for kleenex ! Yup it seems I have cold feet/legs from knees down. It is because I am in a wheelchair and cannot exercise my legs for the best portion of the day. Since I have been in the hospital I have had really swollen ankles which usually is something that I battle during summer but who knows why its happening now! Anyways I have other things to worry and complain about! 😏 Hate to complain but our weather is snow and we too our having a cold snap although nothing like you! Just cannot get out and about when its like this... snow tires is what I need lol

That's really unfortunate as it would be really tough when you are not able to get out and around. Have been in the wheelchair long, and is that permanent? Either way I can understand your not liking the weather given those circumstances. Does putting your feet up help reduce the swelling?

I hope it warms up for you out there so you are able to get out and about it bit more.

It does help for the time my feet are up but 1/2 hr later its like someone has taken a balloon and inserted it in my ankles. I am usually out and about as I don't want anything tying me down. I have been suffering with MS for years but in the last 5 1/2 years it has forced me to be in a wheelchair! You get used to it but it's all the other health issues that pop up on you and you begin to wonder "what the heck!"

Are you watching the Olympics? I am so proud to be Canadian eh? lol Anything but American! Boy there has been a lot of gun violence down there! 18 kids have brought guns into or around the schools in just this year! I feel there is a change coming "if" the politicians have an ear to hear! If they do not they will be replaced!

Anyways, hope your days are going well

What the heck indeed. You certainly seem to be dealing with more than your fair share of health issues and that is really unfortunate so you have earned the right to snivel a bit. We should only be inflicted with one chronic or incurable illness, but sadly we don’t have that option. That has to really suck that your ankles swell like that, do they know the cause? I have no doubt the snow and cold add a bit of complexity for you in going out.

The school shootings are just unbelievable and the fact that no one is planning to do anything related to the gun laws just seems hard to believe. Now they want to give teachers guns and have them have to make the decisions they are not trained to make if confronted by an armed individual.

So you are a proud Canadian eh? Smile I am as well and yes am watching the Olympics every chance I get. Canada has done reasonably well except in the sports that they really should have like hockey and curling. I can’t believe the women didn’t make the playoffs in curling and they were so close in hockey. I really dislike a game as important as the women’s final/gold medal game decided by a shootout. I don’t believe the men can win gold in curling and right now may not even win bronze but they still do have a chance to win gold in men’s hockey so keep your fingers crossed.

Hey there! so I think I'm addicted to CNN. It's a terrible thing to have that kind of a monkey on your back. I try and limit myself but when the school shootings happened and the Paul Manafort thing... well I indulge! My ex son-in-law lives down in the states and he is so Pro Trump that I get angry when I read some of the things he says. How can anyone think that those kids were actors? Or getting paid to say the things they said in Tallahassee? I'll tell you something , when the people in the states draw a line in the sand they really draw a line in the sand! They don't budge and they all stick together! I used to hate politics and now I know why it certainly splits friendships and relationships . What's up with that? I guess a relationship with a friend or family does not mean as much as whether you are a Democrat or a Republican.

It was funny because I had to chime in with my two cents on how candid I handles our gun laws and I kept getting this little nudge "don't say anything." But you have to understand for me that's almost next to Impossible. Especially if I have stats to prove something. So I get all prepared and I'm not able to post it. Not one single word No not one single word would paste on his timeline! I just had to laugh I must have tried half a dozen times and my words just would not paste! So I guess I should really listen to myself more often. Haha.

this morning I looked Out My Backdoor to the Little Hummingbird feeder and there was this sweet little hummingbird just trying his hardest to get something out of that feeder. Was frozen solid! So I have to go and remake some nectar and filled it up again. I never did see him back but I'm sure he made another attempt. Such tiny little creatures. Beautiful little creatures. I threw some peanut butter sandwiches out to the squirrels this afternoon. You think they won the lottery or something! I hope it's okay to give them Bread but he was more interested in the peanut butter than the bread anyways.

Yeah you know I don't think all that much about health issues! It is what it is, and I can't change it. I had many good years and did many things that I've always wanted to do. I don't regret anything. The only thing I would like to do is be able to travel still. even if it's even if it's just to Mexico for a week or two. That would be so nice particularly this time of year! But you know what life's life and it is what you make it and I don't grumble and complain too much. No one wants to hear it anyways! I want to Bea someone that people want to be around and if you're always complaining no one really wants to hear it or be around it. I complain to God that's enough. He can handle it!

I used to watch a lot more CNN than I now do as it is just maddening and nothing ever seems to change. There seems to be either love him or hate him with Trump, not much in between and like you get mad hearing some of the things he says, maybe I should say most of what he says. It is certainly sad when politics can ruin a relationship indeed. We went on a tour of a local firehall at an open house here a few years ago and were told the only thing they can't talk about is politics and religion, and it seems pretty apparent why now.

I do actually feel sorry for you guys with the winter you have been having as it would appear it is certainly worse than what is normal, just as ours has been here and believe me I am more than tired of it, enough already. I hope the poor little hummingbird was able to find some food somewhere before starving.

We did quite a bit of travelling while our kids were still at home and don't regret any of it as we have some great memories. I still plan on travelling more and will be disappointed if I can\t but it that happens will be happy we did travel as much as we already have.

I sure hope all is well with you and your weather finally starts cooperating.

Hey there how are you? Been awhile since I got your note and I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner. Our weather has finally broken and it's quite nice it's going to be sunny out tomorrow so I have to get out and about! Got lots of little errands to run. At least it gives me something to do with my life! You're very fortunate that you had the chance to get out when you were raising your family and do some traveling. The only regret I have is not doing more of that. You see I was a single mom of two children and most of that time was spent raising them and trying to eke out a living for us all to survive half decently. Now they're all grown up and I've got three grandchildren. I guess because of my health and also because they are 25 years old and 21 they've got their own life and I don't see a lot of them. Not nearly as much as I'd like to put it that way. I do see my little guy he's going to be 7 in June so that's nice I'm really close to my youngest daughter. She's coming over all the time and she helps out a lot and brings him of course. He really is a joy a little bit hyperactive! But then think about it what boy at 7 isn't hyperactive? Is it still freezing cold over there? Sometimes in the middle of winter you just wonder when the heck is this all going to end! I think the worst thing is is getting into the wheelchair and going out of the house. It's a power chair and so you know you're going to be booting at around 5 to 10 miles an hour. And when it's freezing cold out you can pretty well bet your eyes and your nose and everything else freezes over. It's time to bring in my outdoor fridge. You see I have a really small apartment size fridge and most of that is condiments! So I have a container that I put fruits and vegetables in and keep and it keeps cold outside. However, today I noticed out of the corner of my eye that darn squirrel! So that little squirrel found some crackers that I had just inadvertently put on top of the container. Well it's probably cold and he's hungry and he's used to me feeding and peanut butter so I have nobody to blame but myself. My hummingbirds are back and I'm now I'm happy because it really bothered me that the feeder had frozen over! Well as usual my phone's out of juice and it's getting late so I thought I better at least have the decency to answer your letter to me. I hope you're feeling good better touch wood because so far so good with my lungs this year. I don't want to slip into complacency but we're almost at the end of the race here and I don't think there's a lot of flu's going around right now. But like I said it's easy enough to slip into complacency. Anyways you take care. Linda
