Hi everyone. Ive just started oxygen therapy and ive got confused(doesn't take much these days). Im using nhs gas canister and im on ambulatory oxygen. Is my litres per minute the number i have to set the battery which is 2 or the number i have to set the gas cylinder which is 4. Hoping to purchase my own portable concentrater due to the nhs cylinder being too heavy. Im only 5 feet tall and struggling. Ive asked copd nurse about smaller type of cylinder but told the one ive been supplied is the only one there is. Many thanks suzie

Confused over how many litres per minute.
The cylinder valve is always set to 4 when used via a condenser and the little box (condenser) that your cannula is attached to is where you set your lpm.
Hi
With regards cylinders there are two sizes, 2ltr with flat bottom. 1ltr with rounded bottom, commonly call paediatric cylinders. Supplied by all oxygen providers.
Some liquid oxygen dewars have a light wait flask 2.2kg,
If you are considering buy you own, look at the Inogen G4 goes to 3lpm and only weighs 1.27 kg with single battery.
Some providers have been testing the Inogen G3 goes to 5lpm, as yet to make it contract stage.
