Respiratory review

I've just come back from my review with the respiratory nurse, which I was not looking forward to, but thankfully she was a completely different person, smiling, cheerful and helpful. I was right when I thought she was unwell, as she has just returned from three months sick leave following surgery. We got on really well, and because she had a student with her she explained things well. The upshot of it is, after 6mwt and blood gases she has upped my ambulatory oxygen to 4l/min and warned me that I am borderline for 15 hours a day oxygen and border borderline for long term oxygen therapy. I asked her about speaking to the consultant and she will be writing to him with results so she said I could leave it for now and she will discuss it when she sees me in six weeks at home. I feel much better talking to her now, and I am not that bothered about LTOT, at least it will keep me going a bit longer to enjoy the grandchildren. At least I don't have dementia, and I have already lived 10 years longer than expected. 75 next birthday and still going reasonably strong. I even have a date again for cataract surgery, 27 th February! Let's hope they don't postpone that again!

Thank you, not amazing but just years of dealing with not brilliant health and a kind caring husband and family.

Well I beg to differ. Having cared for Pete through years of poor health, and still doing so, I have much admiration for all the amazing people who get through life on a daily basis facing an uphill struggle at times.

Partners and family are so very supportive and caring so they deserve recognition too. We are fortunate to have each other and family close by.

Stay as well as possible and may there be good days ahead. Xxx 😘😀

Yes it's good, I'm very glad the nurse and I have got over our differences. But in any case, you have to deal with these things, what is the alternative? I obviously have good days and bad days, as everyone does, and am on anti depressants but I thank God for every day. I hope you continue to keep as well as possible and don't have to wait for a transplant. All the best xx🌺🥀🌷and a pat for Chom

hope your op goes well 4 you.helen.
