Started using Fostair on 26th January after being taken off Symbicort and Ventolin. Immediately began to have problems breathing, sleeping, coughing,
shortage of breath, anxiety attacks. I was satisfied with the previous treatment regime l read that some people had experienced angina like symtoms and lookedup the side effects of Fostair which included heart problems. l suffered a heart attack about 4 years ago and yet my specialist put me on Fostair. I have stopped Fostair now and feel much better. I hope this information is of use to someone.

There is no hard and fast rule to any of the side effects of our medications, we are all individuals, all different. Fostair is a godsend for me and it enables me to function enough to still be able to work. I do get shaky hands but not enough to worry me. Go back to your GP and request a change to your meds, you should not have to suffer from bad side effects. Anxiety, whether over your meds or any other causes, will only make your breathing worse.
I have been on Fostair now for about 14 months with no problems. Obviously this medication was not for you. However with this forum it always benefits the group to hear of others experiences.
" Hello Nw70.. I too suffered the exact side effects as you have with Firstair...And like yourself have taken myself back of it. I'm now back on Sybicort and starting to feel a lot better. Good luck with your treatment..Megan.."
I had a lot of trouble with Symbicort and as I am in the West Indies, drug choices are limited. I was told to rely on my ventolin inhaler and my nebuliser -- as needed. We do not have any lung specialists here so treatment is almost non-existent and am relying mostly on bush tea. I drink ginger tea and lemongrass tea. They both help to clear trapped air. I also use Gas-X tablets which really clear things up. For me it is a matter of what will give immediate relief and I cannot worry about the future.
thanks nw70- drugs affect people in many different ways and we are not all suited to the same drug- I too changed to fostair from symbicort- so far so good as the symbicort wasn't helpful to me
