Hi. I am completely new to oxygen therapy, so I hope someone will be able to help me out. I just got my oxygen concentrator delivered (it is not new) and I am worried about the noise I'm hearing. I'll be contacting the company as well, but I feel like they might not be completely helpful as they've already failed to provide me with one that was satisfactory earlier. Anyway, I have never used one so I am completely clueless as to what noise levels are normal. I keep reading about a buzzing noise, which mine has, but I can't find any information on the "puffing" noise I hear every 2-3 seconds. It seems like the machine is sucking in air, makes a light "pop" and then puffs. Obviously quite difficult to describe in writing. It seems to be a "logical" noise (given its purpose) but I don't remember hearing this when I first switched it on and let it run. It also heats up quite a bit fairly quickly. Is this normal? It is a Kröber O2. Any input would be appreciated.

yes the first one i got was bit noisey but i put a mat under the concentrater which helps alot but you will get used to it if still to noisey phone and tell them and may change it or see your nurse she might help
Make sure the concentrator isn't too close to any walls, Maximm. The air needs to be able to circulate round it otherwise it will get warm. They have brought out newer ones which are less noisy. I hope you get used to it soon. Breathe well. x

The noise level is 35db between a whisper and the humming of a refrigerator. Difference being to you it’s an unusual sound which can be irritating.
The noise is the process of oxygen production. I have two portables and the noise difference is quite noticeable. Thankfully I only use when mobile.
You can get anti vibration matting from Amazon.
That's an interesting suggestion stone-UK as my machine is on the noisy side.....will definitely be looking on line. You always have a wealth of information - so many thanks.
I have a door mat under my large machine and that works well.
Yes mine maked noise as well remember in the really old movies the oxygen machine that showed in a tube the pump going up and down up is pulling air in and down pushing it out same noise
Hi what your hearing all sounds perfectly normal to me. I found when I first got mine that to try and sleep with it in the same room was difficult though I suppose if you had to you would get use to it. To solve my problem I had mine put in a spare bedroom and then a length of tubing from the machine that enabled me to walk where I needed to. They also put a switch system on the wall for me so that when I want to be downstairs I have another lead down there and I just switch it from upstairs to downstairs. Depends how long you have to use it I suppose and whether your in a house or on one level of course. Hope this helps you.
all is fine dude it does that pop s puff noise light stays on a while i had 2 of em at one time that was fun you do get used to noise after transplant i cld not sleep it was to quiet
You get used to the noise. I barely notice it any more and mine is placed in my bedroom and in use 24/7. One tip I can offer is to make sure you clean the filters weekly. Dirty filters can increase the noise level. I hope oxygen therapy improves your quakity of life. X
