I was climbing up the stairs,
The lift I did not use.
Because I need the exercise,
Some weight I need to lose.
Besides the lift goes up so slow,
By the time I reach the top,
I've forgotten what I going for,
When at the top I've got.
And it always happens,
When I'm only half way up,
The blessed front door bell rings,
And the thing won't giddy up.
By the time I finally get there,
There's no one at the door,
A red note from the postman,
Is lying on the floor!
Right now it's more a nuisance,
It's gets right in my way.
And when my nephew's kids come round,
On it they want to play.
I bought it for my Missus
Who was poorly at the time.
But I'm sure that in the future
I'll be glad that now it's mine.
