COPD flare up

my husband has copd and had a pace maker fitted two months ago..He seems to be having a copd flare up, in last day or so, had a slight pain in shoulder which went, then today sore right lung, and slightly more breathless than before. All very mild, and getting better..So Before "panicking" so to speak, and going to GP, which in itself is stressful, as it takes hours to get an appointment, or going to a and e, which means sitting in a nad en dept for 8 hours before being seen..! which we did, when low heart rate was diagnosed( which prompted the pace maker placement) anyone ( with COPD) has had experience of this ..?

Spot on stone-UK- I went to GP with similar symptoms not that long ago, and was given two antibiotics for 'pleurisy'

When I have been to A&E with heart problems, I have jumped to the front of the queue. A COPD Exacerbation requiring a trip to A&E would in most cases be seen quickly. My experience at A&E has always been good, if being admitted to an assessment ward can be considered good....On thing with Lung or and heart conditions, go see a doctor in particular if you have no rescue medication...You mentioned "sore right lung" - You did not say if that was when he was breathing in, that could have been 'pleurisy' and while it can go away on it's own, if anyone has COPD of needing a Pacemaker. better being seen...Glad he is getting better..Have a good New Year,
