I think that in their own minds, they already do. Their great sense of entitlement makes me laugh, we have two and the female one jumps up on the table and checks out what's on the plates in case it's something she fancies, then tries to help herself, very persistent too, even down to complaining loudly when put off the table, several times, until finally removed from the room. Someone once said "Cats used to be worshipped as God's in ancient Egypt........cats have not forgotten this."

With you all the way about cats Johnem. At one time we had 3 cats and every one was an individual - no cats now though, got a dog instead. Have a super Yuletide 🎅🎅🎅🎄🎄🎄👌🙋

Dogs have their owners.....Cats have their staff. And the way my cat looks at me, she's thinking "It's hard to get good help these days!"

Dogs thinks: He feeds me, he takes care of me, he loves me.....HE must be God.
