Here is a fantastic sculpture from local artist Ray Lonsdale -Locally known as the Seaham Soldier or Tommy -it is so emotive even the expression on his face -Exhausted from the war, Releif that it is over , but sad of all the lives that has been lost.

Hope you are keeping well sassy, I've been struggling a bit lately :( .....He is a fantastic artists, maybe worth checking out his talent on google. ? I commissioned him to do an angel for me for my wifes birthday present as I was unable to treat her to a birthday celebrations -Its fantastic

Hi plumbob good to see you hope you are keeping out of trouble. That sculpture is fantastic such a sad day even sadder in my area the local council refuse to allow our mp to lay a wreath today of all days politics should be set aside 😞

Which council is refusing the MP to lay a wreath and why ??? I hope it's not political correctness gone mad -Disgusting

glad to hear your wife keeps you in check 😆. Our council is labour run and the mp is a Tory so sad they couldn't put there differences aside for this sad day

I agree time_drink it has been tradition that the MP lays the wreath but sadly not this time so sad they can't put politics behind them just for one day
