Dr. T, in his wisdom said don't expect miracles, you won't get Muscles..No, I said, just fit for transplant, that's all I ask.. Keeping positive , Heading for a Second Chance, I'm Determined. XXX

Your right the years do fly by but they have gone now so enjoy what you have. The exercising will do you good but how did you manage to get on the list for a transplant my local hospital says 60 is the cut off age, you've done well. Get fit, stay fit and I hope the transplant comes thro' for you.

Hi Ikeith,
Apologies for late reply, Shopping/family day. just catching up on my mail.
I was referred for Lung Transplant by my Lung Consultant. Once I had my 4 day assessment at the Transplant Hospital, they accepted me and Explained that there is NO AGE Limit if you can prove you are Bodily/Mentally Fit and continue to be so. The only draw back for me is Finding A Match as, Yes, as you get older The match is harder to find, Hence why the High Publicity on "Organ Donation".
If I get a Successful transplant and they last 5 Years, then I will be very happy, I can plan a lot in those 5 Years. Thank You Keith for your best Wishes, the only way forward is Positivity...Take Care.. Carolina xxx

Thanks for your response even on your busy day. Would you mind telling me the hospital that is prepared to give the transplant? I'm unfortunately somewhat older than you 72 but I still have my marbles but I may not be bodily fit as I have bone marrow cancer. This has proved a problem all over the world's clinics, as soon as it is mentioned they run away.Wonder if your hospital may be different?
You take care of yourself & keep fit.

Hi keith,
I didn't go direct to the Transplant Hospital, I had to be referred to it from My Respiratory Lung Consultant at my Local Hospital after Lots of Tests, for Heart & Lungs (Echocardiogram) etc.,, which took 2 days, so it's not that straight forward, Once my Consultant and other Doctors discussed my welfare , then they Offered me the Choice to go for a Transplant. Different Hospitals have their own skills in different Transplants, I'm in the Midlands , so we needed to be near to one of the two best ones, I go to Birmingham. I have been on the list for 16 months, I may never receive that Call, but we have to live in Hope and stay as Fit as our ages will allow us to and be mentally stable. As I said Keith it's not a matter of You wanting a Transplant, You have to be Processed. Live a good life, like I aim to do with or without transplant...Best Wishes, Carolina xxx

Thank you for your response, most informative, guess my local hospital think I'm past it or cannot take the trauma. I did give up on transplants a long time ago, instead tried for luung reduction, valves and coils, all refused, so have tried for stem cell on a worldwide scale no joy there as yet but I keep trying. Could go to Serbia or Asia but they just want the money and couldn't care what happens after, I think it will need some after care.
I do hope you get the transplant which should see you right for many years. Keep fit and in shape the call will come one day.
IKeith
Hi Keith,
My Consultant has mentioned Lung Reduction after I asked her about Valves & Coils, although she doesn't think I would fit the criteria , so must wait for transplant, Unless an almighty Miracle Happens and some Genius invents replaceable Organs, though I think not in our Life time. Just take each day, and make the most of it Keith, that's all we can do. Take care xxxx
Good for you Hacienda and what a lovely photo. Take care xxxx

Hi, if your consultant has mentioned lung reduction, provided you are free of cancer I would guess you WOULD fit the criteria. I think the genius has yet to be born. Will he/she give you a referral to a hospital that carries out lung reduction, valves or coils, let them tell you whether you fit the criteria. Don't give up yet there are clinics out there that may be able to help you.
I can't go any further due to the bone marrow cancer so I will have to make the most of it so be it.
Keep well
IKeith
