I saw specialist at the Royal Brompton Hospital four weeks ago. How long before the results are sent to myself / my GP.

Royal Brompton have stated i have not got Fibrosis and Medway Hospital stated that i have. Kings College agree with The Royal Brompton. mmmmmm. So far i have been told i had cystic fibrosis which i never had, a heart condition H.O.C.M. which i never had, and now pulmonory fibrosis which two hospitals now state i have not got. Well done Medway your doing well. Dont go to Medway now .... i wonder why.

Hi,usually about 2 or 3 weeks in my experience.

Brompton is the leading chest hospital and personally I take their advice over any other.

wish you well....

Hi MINNIEthecat48, glad you sound light hearted about your confusing diagnosis. But truly it is not to be taken lightly, we should be able to get a correct diagnosis from a specialist one would think and hope. However this is not so, if questioned they say "in my opinion " and of course opinions can vary, just like the treatment does. Hope you get it all sorted soon, as a diagnosis is important so the correct treatment can be given, of course anybody could have more than one problem and symptoms overlap, that's my opinion :) :) Good luck......

It depends on who you saw - my last consultation the letter came about 3 months later!! Usually it has been 4 to 6 weeks.

Usually 3 weeks after consultation. I think the Consultant dictates it immediately after the appointment, but the secretaries type them up when they get to the top of their list!
