Cannot breath.
Hi there, i know exactly how you feel because i get the same problems. One thing that helped me a lot was whenni got an air purifier. It was quite expensive ( about £200) but so well worth it, the difference is incredible and when the filters start to get blocked up I can really tell the difference. I also have a nebuliser at home, all these things help to keep me breathing. Have you been diagnosed? If you have then a pulmonery rehab course may help. You would need your doctor to help with this. Please take care, i panic when i get in trouble and that makes it worse.

Hello there, I use to wake up hardly being able to breath, I have IPF and was put on perfenidone, this made me even worse, I feel as though I gott every side effect possible, so now I have come off of them, my breathing is so much better now and the only thing I can think of is that at last my body has got use to my lung capacity being lower than it was, I have lost 21% of my lungs, all I am saying is, that if I am right and will find out on Tuesday 29th August, then maybe your body may get use to any reduction that you have and you will start to feel easier with your breathing, at least I do really hope so.
Hi
Sounds like you need to get back to the Drs as the steroids are not enough to deal with the problem you may need something like mucodyne to thin the mucus or something along those lines? It's not the same but when I have a flare up and I'm given steroids I have found if I come straight off them it can return but if the Dr gives me a run down i.e. Drop a couple of tablets every few days then I'm usually ok. Hope you get sorted 😊
Do you slowly reduce the steroids. Like slowly reducing Prendoslon Prendoslon. This is a must. Check out the after efects on coming off steroids on Google.
Go try acupuncher worked for me
Can you give a bit more info please as i am really interested. I have copd and get a lot of problems with infections, could it help with this?

I have just started about a month ago waking up not being able to breath and I cannot swallow ,I have taken Betnesol but this caused nose bleeds I have had two lots of antibiotic only to get oral thrush ,now I am back on the steroids for a week and a half reducing the dose in the last week our doctor is leaving next week so hope this helps me now very scary.
Electricity is high in your body b eetween 3 and 5 early morning it constricts your airways even more with asthma and copd acupuncher retunes your body nerve fibres you have nothing to lose about 6 weekly sessions should do it it worked for me on my first visit find a proper practitioner it is a bit expensive about 30 pound per session but get bak to me if you get it let me know how you get on thanks
Ask doctor about carbocisteine? Worked for me.
Some years ago when I worked at our local Uni. in Research into negative vs positive ions, it was found that one can benefit from using an air-ioniser . The ioniser was recommended for those with asthma or COPD - used at night it helps with breathing problems - might be worth a try and perhaps better than taking more medication. I have been on steroids (Prednisolone) since 1996! - so I know what havoc steroids can create. Good luck.
Prednisolone is what I have been put on.
Basically Prednisolone is and anti-inflammatory, used a lot in treatment for arthritis and allied joint problems. What dose are you on? They say that 5-7mg daily dose is the 'norm' in other words it's what the body produces, some can manage on less, others like me take 10mg. You don't say if this medication has helped. Have you been tested for COPD? (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) - sounds very scary, but sometimes is the result of constant chest infections - bronchitis, pneumonia, influenza - or even a history of heavy smoking. Try and avoid any more antibiotics - they can sometimes do more harm than good. Drink plenty and take a large glass of water when you go to bed - this can help with dryness in your throat at night and that awful sticky mucus. I do feel for you and appreciate the worries you have, but am concerned that you try other simple measures before resorting to further medication. Let me know if the water-at-night helps and perhaps check how many pillows you need to get a good night's sleep.
Agree, something to clear/thin the mucus would probably help. I also have a nasal spray to reduce the post nasal drip. Gradually reducing the steroids is helpful too. Make a list and go back to Doctors, good luck & hope you feel better soon.
Why are you being taken off them? In addition to my Stiolto Respimat, I take Flovent, which is a steroid; 2 puffs twice a day.
I have COPD taking Symbicort, Spiriva and blue reliever puffer last winter I had chest infections constantly. I then started taking Turmeric, making a Golden Paste as directed by a web page on FBook called 'turmeric support group' for joint problems which I am delighted with the results but as a side effect I haven't had one chest infection since taking the turmeric. It is a well known anti inflammatory and works well on me, thankfully ! Check it out on Facebook.
