Hi

I was diagnosed with pleurisy 11 days ago. Prescribed antibiotics which seem to be working with the infection but the sharp pain is still there. Can anyone share recovery times? Thanks

There's no specific time as we are all individuals in these situations but it can vary depending on age other underlying conditions ...it is painful I hope you feel better soon xxx

Hope you feel better soon. I had pleurisy twice last year and it is painful. One took longer than the other to go away. Hope you feel better soon x

Thank you - back to the gp tomorrow for more antibiotics no doubt. Fingers crossed it will improve soon

Very painful indeed - sorted in a week but I was in my thirties and a lot fitter than I am now.

I had pleurisy in my 20s and I seem to remember I was given muscle relaxants which help a lot because the pain is when you breathe. It might be worth asking about.
