I have been able to arrange free oxygen while in Europe against my EICC card but it takes a lot of arranging from the UK and must all be ordered and sorted before you go not once you get there. If you need any further help reply to me. Ruth

Have you tried phoning the Overseas Health team? If not their number is 0191-2181999 or you can try Dept of Health Customer service on 02072104850 Hope this helps you, Ruth

I thought if you tell your usual oxygen supplier in the UK, they would make sure you had oxygen when you get there

It doesn't work like that unfortunately I had a lot of ringing around before I eventually got the right person to deal with it but thanks for your reply

The E1.11 doesn't exist anymore it has been replaced by EHIC. Reminder for everybody to ensure there's isn't out of date as they only last for five years. If your card has expired and you need to use it whilst you are away you won't get free treatment in Europe. Joy.
