I had to see the respiratory nurse yesterday and she couldn't understand how I had been coping, you see I was put originally on 2 to 3 lpm 14 hours a day but she could see instantly that was no where near enough and has changed me to 4 to 5 lpm 24/7, it was a breath of fresh air literally, I no longer have to worry on the amount or time scale, she said I probably should have been increased a while ago, but I don't know about anyone else I don't like to pester them I just wait for my appointment, she has now told me I have to contact them if things aren't right, but she is completely right , they are there to help 💨🐇😊

Increase in Oxygen
It’s not pestering if you need help hope all is ok now oxygen increased
Yes feels heeps better, thankyou Oshgosh
Seriously Diggydog (love the name!) we all need to be proactive in looking after ourselves. We need to have enough self esteem to understand we are entitled to proper care and not embarrassed to ask for it. Please dont ever worry about not pestering. Your life depends on asking for what you need - same as all of us.
I think the Nurse made that sink in, guess I am one of those that keeps thinking it will improve, the Nurse put me right and I will definitely be asking for help if I need it now, Thankyou O2Trees
Absolutely right she is Diggydog . I'm glad she was so helpful. xx 🌼
Hi Hun, Yes, I agree, She was right, Been through this also. Thank Goodness for 02, Couldn't live with out it and do all my Pre planned Daily Tasks including exercise with a 19% FEV1. Good Luck and Breathe well Now. Hugs C. xxx
I know what you mean, gone are the days of asking myself if I have my makeup, hairspray etc .... now it's have I got enough bottles and will the batteries last, do I have the car charger, change of cannula incase. Going out is really hard work ..x
I’m not on oxygen yet? Does this mean you have a mask on 25/7?
Hi,
No I don't wear a mask I have a Cannula for daytime to use with oxygen cylinders and portable oxygen both G3 and Bottles, but at night I have a CPAP machine with a soft pillow nasal cushion which the oxygen is done through the CPAP machine.
Hope this makes sense.
Fingers crossed you don't ever need oxygen, it's hard work but you can't live without it x
So glad you are feeling better and have a supportive nurse helping you. Keep speaking up for yourself - I know it can be tough- especially if you are used to being "the carer"!
