Hi Bella, have a look at some older threads on this subject by typing Montelukast in the 'Search British Lung Foundation' box, at the top right of the page. You'll find lots of information there.
Yep I take them - they don't seem to cause me any unwanted sides... but to be frank I'm not sure they are doing me any good either.
I do know an asthma sufferer that absolutely swears by them and she works in a Pharmacy.
Hi there, I have Asthma & Bronchiecstasis. I have taken Montelukast for the last 7 years. To begin with I didn't think it made any difference, but now I am sure that it really helps, particularly dampening down the reaction I get to viral infections from my immune system. I also take a lot of other drugs. However I have no idea if it works for Copd.
I have no side effects from taking it. Although some people get more vivid dreams.

Ive taken it over the grass pollen season when I was pretty immobilised - not sure if it made much difference though. Only side effect was an intermittent dry mouth.
I've been taking it for a couple of years. No problems!
Been taking it at bedtime for several years - no probs and no asthma or broch probs at night.
I take them at night I do think they really help, not had any hospital admissions since taking them xx
