A little update!

Today I had spirometery test and it was fev1 - 70%.

The nurse then gave me four bursts of an inhaler and did the test again and it was fev1 - 79%.

She then said that is only borderline and isn't going to prescribe any treatment. I did the dreaded google thing again at home (I know I shouldn't lol) and that said that above 80% was stage 1 and less than 80% but above 50% was stage 11 moderate!

Should I make them take more notice of this??? X

Hi

Going of your previous post, you are doing all the right things to slow down the progression, which you seem to have under control.

Stay with your GP, and sack Dr Google.

Keep away from other people who smoke, stay the right side of BBQs.

And enjoy yourself.

Well yours only went down by 4%...how far apart were your tests? Xx

Hi I have got asthma and copd. I have usually blown fev1 mid 70's but last time it was 80%. I am still considered to have copd though. Your lung function can vary by a few points at any given time though.

As long as you feel fine and not breathless then you probably don't need any meds so that's great. If you do however in the future make sure you do go back and ask for more help.
