Phlegm in my throat

Hello there Grey, I suffer with lots of phlegm in my throat and found by accident that when taking an antihistamine it helped with this, but you would have to check with your GP as to the cause of your phlegm and if antihistamines are suitable for you as it could be post nasal drip as it is for me which can be triggered by allergies, infections and even not keeping hydrated enough oh yes and of course aging can thicken our natural secretions, making the sensation of phlegm in our throats more obvious. Also with using ventolin it causes me to need to clear my chest of phlegm a little but this sensation is different from my usual post nasal drip as it comes from my chest rather than the usual continuous throat clearing associated with post nasal drip. All the best.
Just a suggestion, I always had this. I do have COPD but dairy products seemed to make my congestion much worse. My GP dismissed it. Two months ago I changed to coconut milk instead of semi skimmed cows milk. I have never looked back. I cant remember the last time I had to blow my nose!! Try it for a week just to see. My whole airway is clearer.
Well hello from one Carolina girl to another Carolinian! I'm not too far from Charlotte. I've had reasonable results with Mucinex but the key to get the best results from this OTC expectorant is drinking more water. Water actually helps thin the mucus therefore allowing you to cough up as much as possible.
