I have had an assement done by a physio, and will be starting rehab classes in June, which I am looking forward to. are there many our there who have found doing the rehab has helped them ? I have idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and in the early stage.

I'm just coming to my last week of PR .I'm stage 3 copd and it's been very beneficial not just to me but the rest of the group whose lung conditions vary .I have had a lovely group of ppl and the education side of things is good as are exercises enjoy xxx
So worth doing, yes, go for it. Rehab is an important part of your treatment, by doing the course you will learn how to make your life so much better and easier. Many of us here have benefited from Rehab.
Rehab turned my life around. Before I went I stopped doing anything physical because it always made me very breathless. At PR I learned that I tended to hyperventilate on exertion, and was encouraged to find ways to control my breathing so that I don't do that now. The PR physios also encouraged me to start my singing group for people with lung problems, Breathe Better Sing Together, and that is still going nearly two years later.
I found PR great after my long stay in ICU they tought me a lot and I also had a great crowd with me. Unfortunately I have been deemed exercise intolerant now so they will not take me into another

It proved extremely useful for me (have IPF and had an exacerbation). It also was first time the medical staff seemed to get any idea about my conditon and in my case it helped confirm extent of desaturating on exercise and helped me get more help with ambulatory oxygen.
