Hi I'm very sorry in that I'm so slow in responding to every one , its that I don't look on here often. so thank you all for your question and kind comments and a kiss for the ladies . Update is that its now 8 months since my op, have completed 6 weeks rehab excising program. I'm off to Addenbrookes next week for a lung function test which I think I'm looking forward to. Hopefully it will show an big improvement, if it has they may consider doing the other side. I live in hope but I must say I'm still getting breathless more than I hope, but having (Distal hereditary neuropathy ) which { don't get any help for, but hay-ho live goes on, just!

Wishing you a happy result from your lung function test. Give it welly (or as much welly as you possibly can)!

I had one recently; it took a full half an hour and I was quite exhausted by the end of it - but all that effort meant that I had no doubts about the results being right.

Good morning IZZYWIZZY. You have certainly had a difficult time recently and hopefully you can see some improvement from your operation. Hope the tests go well for you and you can make a decision about having the operation on your other lung. Take care and keep safe and warm in these freezing conditions at present. Brian

Hi IZzywizzy, oh I do hope you get good results.I am being considered for Lung reduction, and I am so interested in how you have benefitted from it, I am a bit worried about having this done, I have severe Emphysema and struggling to breath most of the time. Wishing you all the best,

Hi purdeyspinger its 8 months since my op which should have been 5-7 days in Papworth but in there for 5 weeks with complication's. I've improved slightly but still breathless and on oxygen 24 hrs a day. I should go to Addenbrookes' tomorrow for a lung function test but had to cancel because I am coughing to much. best regards.

Oh I hope you feel better soon, do you think you have benefitted from the operation ? I really don't know if I should have it done or not, any help would be appreciated, take care.

good morning, and hope you’re doing well? I am on the route of LVR, it was suggested to me by consultants 18 months ago, my question is what was your time line and tests to when you had surgery? I have had PR, x-rays, CT Scan, And recently LFT , many thanks prematurely for your advice.

Hi Trevor I can't really remember but perhaps 2-3 years mainly because I was on a high dose of steroids and had to be weened of to a lower dose. Also flair ups and calling 999, which meant my exercise program was put on hold more than once. I had x-rays and scan at James Paget Hospital and eventually had my first Meating at Addenbrookes hospital and had a Nuclear scan followed by a pet scan 2 hrs later. Had my op booked in for the Ist April this year, cancelled two day before, had another 2 weeks later, got as far as having sitting in the hospital fully gowned up only to be sent home by taxi at they expense of £ 123. I was operated on the 21st of April and had complications, which I won't go in to. Good luck with yours. Anything else just ask.
