Mum has been put on to EOLC now as her condition is so severe they have given mum a few months I have the hospice palliative care nurses in now mum doesn't understand as how do you tell your mum that sort of news but I think she knows in her own way mums dementia has also deteriorated and her skin condition is still very bad she's had numerous steroid creams but none have had an affect they are providing mum with a special bed and pressure relieving mattress as they don't want mums sores on her skin to turn into pressure sores I knew mums condition was serious but hearing it is another thing I also have my husbands dad in the hospice very porly so having a bad time at the moment x

Dear Chezzyy66, so sad to hear of how things have progressed. As long as Mum is well looked after in these final weeks, that will go some way to alleviating your worry. It really is the worst thing to endure, watching someone you love so dearly deteriorate. You have done amazingly well, and I expect you often wonder how on earth you've managed. But manage you have.

Sorry to hear of your father in law's poor health also. It never rains, but it pours. Hope this brings you closer as you share in this harrowing experience. You need each other now more than ever.

Warm virtual hugs for you. I know exactly what it feels like. Eight weeks since I said goodbye to my beloved mother and it's a pain like no other. Hang in there xx

All you can do is give her all the love and care you can and to try and make her as comfy as posible god be with you and your family as you sound as if you need him .with your fathering law as well good luck .

Hello Chezzy 66, so sorry you are having to go through this awful time. It's not going to be easy for you, but hang in there and try to keep smiling. I know it's going to be really hard for you to stay positive, but both your mum and father in law are getting the best care possible. Thinking of you all, take care and let us know. Please how they and yourself are. Take care 😊 xx Bernadette

Sorry to hear you are going through such a sad time Chezzy66, it sounds like your mum is being well cared for which is good for your moral, but these things are not easy, lost my mum just over twelve months ago so understand what you are going through, must be even harder for you with two family very ill at once. It is amazing where we summon the strength from to get through these times but I am sure you will my thoughts are with you xx

i think the most important thing for her right now is she knows your there for her.

we all have to go. and when we do we dont want those who love and care for us to be hurting.

my mother not long for this world now and its impossible for me to be there for her.

we will both suffer our loss in our diffrent ways.

The bed will make a lot of difference. I hope you have a care team coming in to wash your Mum. There are some wonderful products to reduce the chance of pressure sores.

When my husband was dying, as soon as the bed arrived, the care team came three times a day and the District Nurse dealt with his medication.

It is impossible to predict how long your Mum will remain with you. I do hope she can speak to you. The hearing is the last thing to go, so do please talk to her.
