had nasty 2 yrs 2 lots of pneumonia, [last 1 8weeks ago ] in hdu last year heart problem , have copd , and bad fall , when fell outside , now all confidence gone in walking , need help and advice please also have deep vein thrombosis in 1 toe , help please

Hi banner, it does sound as though you have had a particularly tough time of it. Why not call the BLF helpline and speak to one of the staff there? They will be able to offer you the advice you are seeking. They are there weekdays on 03000 030 555.

That's a lot for you to deal with banner and l hope you are being well cared for by a good medical team. Give yourself time to recover and maybe see if you can just go out into the garden with someone by your side perhaps. Do take it steady and try and gradually build your confidence.

Hi banner, I can really relate to you. I had double pneumonia in December and a bad chest infection last month. I can understand your loss of confidence after a fall outdoors. Now I have to use oxygen when I move around, especially outside and used to pull it on a trolley. However after reading suggestions on here about lightweight, four wheel rollators I bought one. Brilliant ! I really do recommend one to you in fact to everyone, whether you use oxygen or not. A lift up lid to put shopping in and a seat to rest wherever you are. I think Stone ( our go-to wise one ) mentioned them first. I love mine, it gives the support of a zimmer but has a lot more benefits. Sheila x
