Hi
This a copy of the terms and conditions for one company, new purchase.

Before final choice check the preferred companies web sight and read the term and conditions for the type of purchase you intend.
Ask for clarification in writing on any issue you are unsure of.
There is a standard warranty which will cover different components for a number of different years. Example stair lift 2years, motor 5years.
An extended warranty which may be costly and requires a annual service may already be covered by the standard warranty or as a add on example 2yrs standard plus 3yrs extended total 7yrs.
The fact you can read the term and conditions of the web site will give you a better understanding. Before you even make any contact, less pressure.

I think the cost of warranty with the companies is extortionate, I got a far better deal through Mark Bates ltd who specialise in insuring mobility aids. They are based in Grantham and their phone number is 01476 591104. It was still not cheap but less than half of the warranty! I think I paid about £550 for three years, but not absolutely sure so don't quote me! Certainly a lot less than the company offered for the same service level.
Thanks Carnival567, really useful to know.It never occurred to me we could go elsewhere to the manufacture. Have just paid nearly £500 for a years' maintenance /service contract on a 1 yr old stair-lift! Will certainly look into before renewing that.I generally don't take out these things but with a stair lift, it's such a vital piece of equipment that needs to be seen to quickly if it breaks down.
I wonder if they cover the north east or is it just local
I paid £560 for 4 extra years' full warranty with Acorn
Acorn have been pressuring us with phone calls
They do that, my other half told them if they could offer us a better deal than other suppliers then why didn't they give it first!
Thanks we haven't even said we buying from them yet and they have phoned several times also companion phoned about price matches why don't they just give you good price to start when you are ill it is just to much .Thrn they have different levels of warranty total nightmare which level did you get some asking a grand for 4or maybe 5 years
