Hi for a few weeks now I've had a horrible sensation of the need to yawn in my lungs, has anyone else felt this after several attempts to yawn I feel a bit better.

This can be a sign that your oxygen is a bit low, your body reacts by trying to suck in more air which is what causes the yawn. I can be referred to as air hunger.

Hi Higgy 1

I sometimes get this strange feeling that i want to yawn to get a good breath in but sometimes cant but when i do it feels good, and i did ask about this on this site a few years ago.

I sometimes find that if i do breathing exercise it works.

I dont get this all the time just now and again and its like you want to take a deep breath in but cant but if you yawn you can if you know what i mean.

Best wishes

Hi music,

I hope your well, this is how I feel, it takes a good few attempts and also it's great to get a yawn so to speak. It feel the lungs have tightened up a bit. I did notice this happen a few weeks ago. Still the same today.

Many thanks for your reply.

Very occasionally I get a "stutter" on my in-breath, is the closest description, a bit like when a child is sobbing. It only happens for that one in-breath and everything is back to normal. It usually happens when at rest.

Hi 2greys

It's the most weirdest feeling I did wake during the night as if I can't get a breath and it is like a stutter I only feel it's better if I manage to yawn

Thank you

Talk about power of suggestion! I haven't stopped yawning since reading this thread. It's first thing in the morning and I've just had my breakfast but have been up over an hour so not tired. It's all the yawn reference that's making me do it. I would never have believed it if it wasn't happening right now. Lol!

😂😂

ASK263, I do that often and when you breathe out do it with pursed lips.

You need to try yawning and whistling at the same time, its not easy.
