Im trying to put on a twitter link - this is, need I say, a U.S. phenomenon.

Not sure if you can get this if you're not on twitter, if not sorry but here's the pic off the twitter post anyway.

Ahh as long as people do not go out and buy puppies impulsively. A puppy grows into a dog. Dogs are for life NOT just a novelty toy.

I do so agree Rontgen, but it's still rather charming imo, the pictures anyway. Don't know if you got onto twitter, but the guy holding the puppy in the pic is a U.S. congressman who was on the civil rights marches in the 50s. What an incredible life.

Yes, I agree but I am just trying to warn people not to buy a cute puppy on impulse but consider their lifetime commitment to a dog, with all their good and "bad" points.

That explains why Bracken, 5 month old Cocker spaniel was boisterous today - either that or adolescence. He has started sniffing everything when he goes out, it will be girls next! At the moment still at the falling over his feet when he does a sharp turn! Assure you he's perfectly healthy , just a growing boy!

I saw that on Instagram. It seems to be widely celebrated in the U.S. 😃

Puppies are very cute and appealing, I quite agree. I love all dogs. I just worry that they may be bought on impulse and then neglecte, abused or abandoned when they start to be a "problem", need toilet training, to learn not to nip, or bark, whine, chew everything in sight due to teething, react to other dogs, bikes, cars, people, are not good travellers, make a "fuss", when left alone, even if you are just trying to sleep upstairs without them. I have trained many puppies, dogs and owners and have been called upon for so many such like "problems" to be "corrected". I educate the family as much as the pet.
