So, been to hospital today to have sleep monitor fitted (or so they said that was going to happen) instead I ended up with somebody that rushed me through a set of instructions that fast it was like someone was threatening to steal her food !!
Sent me away with a new version of DIY monitor a bit like a digital camera complete with belts, stickers and a wristwatch monitor and basically said do it yourself and make sure it’s back here before 10am in the morning
OK so I’m not stupid I could catch what she said which was pretty self explanatory looking at the device and the strapping but she did no5 say whether once it was on did my heart activate it or do I switch it on manually and if so, which of the three switches 😙 so therefore I guess I’m asking have any of you guys had this and do you know the answer. I hasten to add I rang the hospital dept just 10 mins after leaving and they have all gone home no answer to 7 calls, I’m fuming
Anybody help?
Thanks,
Julie x

Thanks for responding but the only thing on it is a letter and number which I have googled but it only come up with a tutorial for when it’s being downloaded for the doc 😙. I’ll keep trying thanks again x
If you can’t find how to use it, call the department first thing tomorrow and insist on speaking to the head of the department. Tell them in no uncertain terms what happened. They should then tell you over the phone how to do it and give you an appt to have it read. Don’t go wasting your time and energy going back there until you have some data to be read. This is due to their inefficiency and failure to care properly for the patient and they can put it right.
Thanks lovely I’ve sorted it now thankfully however, you are right, I have to take this back before 10am so I’ll make sure I’m a bit earlier so I can launch Julie’s rocket 🚀, confrontation at its best. They should spend just a little bit more time on explanation and less on having a three way conversation on how Gemma Collins catapulted along the ice on Sundays Dancing on Ice . Wish me luck ..... with the equipment not the confrontation 🤣
Hi, I did this and it is very straight forward. At first when I got home, like you I felt confused with it, however, after sitting and looking at it, I worked it out; not as complicated as it appears at first. Good luck with
Thanks June it was easy I think I was just mithered with all the paperwork to complete yet no flipping instructions. Completed and packed up now ready to return to hospital. Good luck with the results hospital I tossed and turned all night so it’s going to be a bit urgent on the transcriber 😊. x
Hi Julier1955, I am not stupid myself but need things explaining properly to me so that I understand before moving on and yes we can figure most things out ourselves. I cant stand people when they are supposed to be showing you something but then continue daily chatter, I think its rude and shows they are not doing their job properly. Go launch your rocket girl x
Thanks and rocket I did. She was quite taken aback but it had to be said. I also said, you might want to order some with more elastic for the more festively plumper ladies like myself 😏 after I removed the contraption the elastic was shredded 👌
You’re not stupid. The person who was suppossed to help you was just not qualified to do so. Lack of patience or lack of knowledge. If it were me I’d go back to whoever they gave it to you and say” This was not made clear to me and no take home manuel was given me so I’ll be here til someone can instruct me. Hope somebody nice can help you as I’m not familiar with your fancy contraption
Oh impatience one of my specialties it actually keeps me up at night worrying about what I’m gonna do tomorrow til my husband will say” can’t you take something for that and pleeez go to sleep” 😂
That is really inexcusable treatment. They know how it works so give a very brief instructions when they should realize it is completely new to most people and therefore need to spend adequate time to insure everything is clear and perhaps even let the patient setup it up like they will at hone so if any questions arise they can be answered before leaving. The test is being given for a reason so insuring the results are accurate should be their main focus.
Using an iPhone is pretty easy but it can be somewhat intimidating the first time you take it out of the box and try to use it if you have never used one before, and that is the case with most things a person has never used before.
Absolutely jackdup anyway a rocket they got at precisely 09.57 when I returned it ....... well they said before 10.00am 😁 they wasn’t overly impressed when I said “good luck deciphering that lot of tossing & turning”
