Hi everyone, you may remember my post ( having a moan ) a few weeks ago when my GP referred me for a rehab course which I haven't yet started but had a community nurse visit me at home and Started the ball rolling for a series of test to be done before starting the course, I have today been to see a respiratory consultant and what a great Dr he was I spent a good 30 minutes chatting to him running through all my results X-rays and bloods medication reviews. He said I would be reviewed for Oxygen to see if I thought it would be a help. He then dropped the bomb shell Lung Coils he said It looked like they could be a possibility for me and would I like to talk to a consultant. Fingers crossed and early days feeling positive for a change. I have heard mixed views but the one thing that sticks in my mind is they don't make the situation any worse so nothing to lose, would just be very nervous about the procedure but if it's a benefit I feel it's a must go for it. Will keep you informed.

Looks like i got my wires crossed.
This Lung Volume Reduction Coil (LVRC) i guess thats what you might be talking about.
Hi Dyson if you google Forty Minute Wonder lung coils opp the daily mail ran an article on one of the first opps done it would explain to better than I could. There's quite a lot of info on it . I believe it's not suitable for everyone I have only 20% lung function maybe less so it would make a huge difference to me so well worth a try X
Thank You hopefully the refferal is successful and I am suitable to have the opp, shall be a scaredy pants if it comes off but if it gives better quality of life I am all for it. X
I am so glad you met a nice doctor who was willing to go through everything with you. I always feel much safer when the doctor is thorough. It is also wonderful that he is suggesting lung coils. Even if you end up not going for it, it is worth looking in to perhaps. Do let us know how it goes. Take good care.
Thankyou Cas I am trying not to get too excited as it may not happen also a little nervous but it does feel good knowing some improved health could be on it's way. Hope you are well you seem to be getting on well with your oxygen and getting out and about must make a difference to your life. Take Care
I guess we must always hope, even when everything seems so difficult. I look forward to hearing what happens with your case Pauline. You take care too.
