No cough
Hi Poppy19 I often have a wheezy chest which turns in to a chest infection with no cough you would think having a chest infection you would be coughing all the time
Yea u would think so. Cause I don't have an idea where my illness whatever illness or Wat stage I'm at. This time last year I had the most Terri Le cough I was very sick an in bed 4 days. It was very painful. I told the go at the time about the weezing at nite an he said my lungs were completely clear??? U so I am wondering wen this all started an how long I've had it. It seems to have progressed more since starting to quit smoking g. Nothing makes any sense. Xx
Also I have weezing every single nite but not so bad during the day. I have only had one attack at f not being able to breath after rushing to get my son from school. Very scary. I've been in a state if shock an depression since. Xx
It's quite often the case Poppy19 ,that once your body isn't getting its regular nicotine "fix" it starts to shall we say, have a good old clear out and you can feel quite run down for a while. However do persevere as it does clear itself and all your hard work, giving up the ciggies, will without any doubt,be the best thing you could have done to help your coughing. When you see your Doctor and tell him,he'll explain it to you but he/she will be very happy you've stopped smoking and given yourself better quality of life. Well done and do keep us up to date as to how you are getting on.
Best wishes.
Thank you yes I will quit completely I've gone from over 20 a day to 2 a day rite now buy I am so determined. I've smoked from the age of 14 so no doubt there will b irreparable damage done in so I'm hoping I'm I early stages as I said last year there were no problems with my lungs an were completely clear. The idea that 4 a stupid habit I will have taken time from my kids kills me an the guilt is immense. Xx
Poppy well done for giving up smoking please give up completley. For your kids and yourself best of luck routing for you x
You're doing good! I stopped. You can do it! God bless.
The one thing you learn very quickly in here is that we are all so different that there is no real 'normal'.
Wheezing could be due to mucus in the lungs. Sometimes the mucus gets thin and it's like breathing thru cobwebs and it creates the wheezing.
Or it could be that your airways are inflamed and are contracting, so your breathing in and out is creating a wheezing effect.
Beth
Oh OK thank you. Pain around my lungs 2dsy. Not feeling too good. X
Poppy,
I have had pain in areas of my chest around the lungs, also had an infection in lungs. My doctor said the pain around the lungs is due to the lining surrounding the lungs are inflammed. Antibiotics would clear up both infection in the lungs and the discomfort around my lungs.
When in doubt, see your doctor, Beth
OK well thank you. All this is very new to me an my gp is rude an uninterested or I'm going to have my tests an then change gp I think.im in a little of pain around the shoulder blade area mostly on the left side. But now I'm hurting all over not sure Wat to think or do many i should go to the hospital x
I have it but I have congestive heart failure--was told it is fluid MmeT
It means my heart does not beat sufficiently to provide oxygen to all my body--also fluid/blood can pool in chest(thatcan cause wheezing-also in hands,feet,abdomen-don't get all worried-till you know--I am on oxygen 24/7 that's the worst part--rarely go out---MmeT
Oh God that sounds awful. Is there nothing they can do 4 u xx
try to help me have as good of quality of life as possible--I smoked 53 years--quit and thought id get a new life--I did but wasn't expectin this--it is disheartening and im still adjusting to oxygen 24/7--I just got progressively more and more short of breath---xxx MmeT
How long have u had this. Xx
im not sure--I quit smoking a year ago november--and got progressively more shor of breath--I was in hosp in aug and oct --diagnosed with heart failure and a fib then so almost a year--I walked around thinking it would go away--I almost died---my life has changed totally---not the same woman--but im alive--I think I may have had this a while but smoking covered it up or something--its odd how that works-I see a pulmonologist for my lungs and cardiologist for heart--results aren't in on lungs but think they are ok--don't mess around if your symptoms continue- let me know how you are--MmeT

Hello Poppy----you just hang in there--you have just as much of a chance of getting good news as you do bad--Remember that--Very glad the wheezing better--Lets just think positive right now until there is a reason to feel differently-I just got back from my heart dr--They have such a time with me cuz I get so anxious over all of it--but Im holding my own--We have a terrible strain of flu here--lasts off and on for months--so lotta people coughin, sneezing, etc etc--One day at a time and today is a GOOD day--Please keep in touch--xxx MmeT
Poppy,
Have you tried a heating pad on the sore area? 2 days ago, I had back soreness and like a knot in the middle left side (usually it's the left side). Mucus plug?? Heat helps relax the muscles and I went thru my mucus clearing routine, I was able to cough up a lot of stuff (the mucus was white, so no infection), and the next day my back was fine. Try a hot shower with the shower head beating on your sore area. Or if you have a bathtub with jets, sit with the jet hitting your sore area.
My daughter uses a cold pack on her sore muscles.
Moving and stretching helps as well, Beth
I wake up every single day with major lower back pain like a burning but cause it's lower back I didn't think that was anything to do with my lungs. I've been on strong painkillers 4 years 4 my back its difficult 4 me to get out of bed in the morning g feel 100 years old wen I wake up. Xx
Poppy,
I get a burning pain in my lower right side of my back. It comes and goes. I'm 67, so I have never bothered to have it looked at. Also, if I mend over, such as gardening, my lower back hurts. I just assume it's due to my age. A touch of arthritis. I do back strenthening exercises sometime.
I should go see a chiropractor.
